Is the Battle Pass for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 Worth It?

During every new season in Fortnite, players have the opportunity to purchase a limited-time Battle Pass that is exclusive to that season. When you buy the Battle Pass, you can earn items such as: skins, emotes, trails, sprays, loading screens and much more! You can also occasionally earn V-Bucks, the currency for Fortnite purchases. There are a total of 100 items and bits of currency you can earn. So if you buy the Battle Pass, you’ll get rewards all the way up to level 100! What’s nice is Fortnite lets you see what rewards come with the Battle Pass, even before you buy it. So you can check out the rewards before purchasing the Battle Pass.

The Battle Pass for each new season costs 950 V-Bucks, which is roughly $8 USD. You may not think that there are enough interesting rewards worth spending 950 V-Bucks over, but you’d be surprised at how good of a deal the Battle Pass really is! Often times, buying any item by itself is a TON of money. For example, the cheapest skins in Fortnite are 800 V-Bucks; however, in the Chapter 2 Season 5 Battle Pass, you’ll get the chance to earn seven skins, along with several styles for those skins! And all of those skins come from the 950 V-Bucks you spent on the Battle Pass! So if you are interested in even two of the skins from the Battle Pass, you’re getting a HUGE deal by buying the Battle Pass. Basically everything in Fortnite costs more money if you DON’T buy it in the Battle Pass. So, buying items in Fortnite through the Battle Pass can actually SAVE you money!

If you still don’t think its worth spending any amount of money on skins, emotes, or other items, you should still buy the Battle Pass so you can earn more V-Bucks that you wouldn’t have earned otherwise! Once you get to level 100 in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5, you’ll have made an additional 550 V-Bucks on top of earning back all the V-Bucks you spent on the Battle Pass! Yep you read that right. You can actually MAKE money by spending money! The way it works is you can earn bundles of 100 V-Bucks 15 times while leveling up to 100. So if you take 1500 and subtract 950, you get 550. So by buying the Battle Pass, you don’t actually lose money (unless you don’t play at all and don’t end up leveling up to 100).

So basically what I’m saying is buying the Battle Pass is a crazy good deal! As long as you level up to 100 by the time the season ends (which this season goes through March 16th), you get all the rewards that come with the Battle Pass. If you make it to level 65, you make all of your money back from purchasing the Battle Pass, basically making it a free purchase! But if you make it all the way to level 100, you make an additional 550 V-Bucks! So by all means, PLEASE buy the Battle Pass! You won’t regret it!

I bet what you’re wondering now is, “Why would Fortnite give out such a great deal?” I think its because they want to incentivize you to play the game as much as possible. By making you work for the rewards you pay for, they are ensuring they’ll have a massive pool of hungry gamers that want to level up and get their rewards everyday. I think they also are hoping that you’ll decide to splurge on a tempting non-Battle Pass item. If you spend your V-Bucks on anything but the next Season’s Battle Pass, you’ll likely have to purchase more V-Bucks to buy the next Season’s Battle Pass. This is because only a handful of items will cost you less than the 550 extra V-Bucks you get each season. If you spend more than 550 V-Bucks, you’ll have to spend more REAL money to get the next Battle Pass.

Not to mention Fortnite can give out such a great deal because they can afford to do so. Epic Games doesn’t have to spend any extra money to include all of the items in the Battle Pass, whereas a physical item in the real world costs money to produce. When you purchase V-Bucks to get the Battle Pass, Epic Games (the creators of Fortnite) gets roughly $8 USD at the beginning of every season! Really, the Battle Pass is an investment for everyone, and if you use an investment right, you can really profit from it.
