For those of you who read my blog, you know I play a lot of video games with my husband. Whenever we get a new game, we always like to play it together so that one person isn’t getting ahead in the story before the other. It’s like watching Netflix or Disney Plus, you can’t watch a show without everyone there! Besides the fact we don’t like accidentally spoiling game plot points for each other, we also love playing video games together because its a great couple-hobby for us! We’ve actually been playing video games since we started dating! Our first picture we ever took together was a selfie of us at our local arcade. Going to the arcade was one of our first dates and one of the first moments I realized my husband and I had something really cool in common, which was our love of video games!

Now that we are married we still love video games (obviously), and we’ve only become more obsessed with gaming! We’re always hyping each other up about the video games we’re playing, getting each other into new video games, and getting pumped for the video games we have yet to play. And whenever something crazy happens in a video game we’re playing together, its nice to have someone to get excited about it with.
It’s nice having someone to play multiplayer games with like: Luigi’s Mansion 3, Super Smash Brothers, or Fortnite. We also LOVE playing through single-player games together and taking turns playing. Some of our favorite one-player games we’ve played together are: Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider Man, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

One might wonder if switching off on a single-player game can get boring for the one person whose watching, but honestly we haven’t had that problem. We switch off enough that one person isn’t sitting around too long waiting for a chance to play. There’s actually a ton of benefits in having two people play a single-player game together. For one thing, sometimes a battle or puzzle that stumps one of us, is easier for the other person and we can get the battle or puzzle out of the way and progress the game. If there’s something that totally stumps both me and my husband, one person looks up a guide while the other person keeps trying to make it through the struggle. Another thing that’s nice about when we’re playing video games together, is one of us might notice things the other person totally missed. When we help each other see every cool thing about a game, we help each other enjoy that game more.

Honestly, I can’t imagine my life without my husband. He’s amazing for so many reasons. He’s always there for me and my biggest supporter. The fact we both love video games is a huge bonus for me! I can’t even imagine what our lives would be like if we didn’t play video games together. I’m sure we’d have some other hobby, but video games have been one of our biggest past-times since we started dating more seriously. Honestly, I think that video games are a great way to spend time with the ones you love. I grew up playing video games with my family and now I get to spend my evenings playing video games with my sweet hubby. What can be better than video games, snacks, and cuddles with the one you love?

Always a Fortnite fan now and Smash Bros! I’m glad Shelby likes playing games too or else it would be boring!
